I've managed to mix with Ac3 Pro Tools a custom center channel to AC3 5.1 soundmix. After that I muxed it to video with VirtualDubMod 1.5. As a result I have a wonderful .avi, with the following problems:

1) Sound is crackling in intense actions scenes with mortar fire. Ac3 Pro Tools does not provide any filter's during the making of AC3 mix. This is the most annoying thing, I would appreciate if someone would help in fixing this. I would imagine it needs normalizing, as the center channel is from different source and as such differs from the original AC3 track resulting the damned crackle, what you think? :stupid:

2) Center channel sound is hollow (such is the source, no can do), resulting hollow sound in some rainy scenes. I work mainly with Audition 3.0, but I don't have much experience yet. I managed to boost voices and by tuning EQ got some more space for vocals, but the rain and other backround sounds are still there. Shouldn't they be in FrontLeft and FrontRight -channels? Is it possible to do somekind of reverse karaoke -filtering, leaving only the speech untouched?

Also other kind of tips regarding this kind of project are all most welcome!

:thanks:
