Hi!
You can simply use good ol' DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 as follows:
1) Load your DVD
2) Set DVD Decrypter to "IFO" mode
3) DVD Decrypter should automatically highlight/select the main movie under the "Input" tab
4) Click on the "Stream Processing" tab and check "Enable
stream processing"
5) UNcheck all of the videostreams and audiostreams OTHER
THAN THE ONE YOU WISH TO EXTRACT.
6)HIGHLIGHT the stream you wish to extract
7) Click on "Demux"
8) Click on the "Destination" icon and select the drive/folder
location to save the audiostream to
9) Click on the "Decrypt" icon
Note - For an LPCM stereo audiostream, you may have to go
to:
Tools>>Settings>>IFO Mode and increase the VOB/WAV size from
1Gb to 2Gb, in order to be sure to generate only one .VOB/WAV file for
the entire audiostream

Your title says "DVD to AC3". If you want to convert the AC3 to WAV, thats a whole other subject. Start here: http://dspguru.notrace.dk/guides.html

Hi,
I prepared the vob file using setarip_old's method. Now I need to convert this vob file to wav file. Maybe this is not the right topic but I do not know, how can I do this.

Did you follow setarips method exactly (are you sure you did step #7? You should check "demux" for your (or all) audio stream(s) you want) if you do not demux you will get a VOB!
Try again but be sure to demux the audio stream.
After this you should have an .ac3 file of your audio stream. DVD Decrypter does not convert that .ac3 into a .wav file you will need a separate encoder to do that (I use this one: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/PX3_AC3_to_WAV)

And this decoder (wav is uncompressed format, then not coded), how manage the Dialog Normalization and the Dynamic Range Compression?
To decode ac3 to wav use BeLight-BeSweet-Azid, BeHappy-AviSynth-NicAudio, Foobar2000, ...

Hi!
The program referred to by "kpic" has the ability to normalize and amplify the audio as follows (From the docs):- You can now select how to do the normalize
- automaticly, so peaklevels are searched and the gain is normalized
- amplify by db, which you select using this little nice slider =:-)
- limited the db amplify to max 50 db

Thanks, setarip_old, and sorry. My question is not for you, but for kpic, because the more important question, talking about ac3 decode, is DialNorm and DRC.
I understand there are more complete ways to do ac3 to wav but I was assuming maniaq would be looking for a simple (IE: less steps) solution as he\she was having difficulty getting the ac3 file in the first place
