Is there some bug trying to split files using virtualdub? I encode movies with gknot and there are no sync issues. Once i try to split the file with virtual dub, I get huge sync problems. Yes, audio and video are set to direct stream copy. Please help me

I had same problem . It didn't matter using VDub or nandub it was same. Try using this solution if nothing else helps.
1. Open .avi in nanDub and open audio .mp3 and find out frame where you'll cut movie.
2. Close it all and open again .avi but now open original .wav file and use same delay
3. Go to frame where you'll cut you movie and delete unwanted part.
4. Use File-Save wav and save it using direct stream...
5. Now encode saved wav in .mp3 and mux it (with 0 delay) with video.

Hope this will help.

Use NanDub and split while muxing your audio at the same time:)

When you open NDub to split file, are you also making sure you choose "Direct stream copy" in the video tab before anything else? If not, you have to do that first.

Yeah, I just used nandub to split the file and there was no problem. Virtual Dub caused huge sync problems splitting the file. When i used xmpeg, I used vdub to split. I just started using gordian knot, I can only split with nandub. Why is this the case? Can you give us an answer DOOM9?

@The WEF

I only have this problem on occassion and not all the time. It has nothing to do with Gknot though. I think the real issue is NanDub. I've had problems before I try and split an AVI that has audio in it. So I found a way to get around it. I split while muxing:)

Oh, perfect sense. Thanx. So, overall, which would be the better program to use all the time? To split,adjust volume, video editing, etc? Vdub or nandub?
