Hey there...
So here's my quick story. I have an avi file, rather large of a video I shot with my digital video cam. I have converted it to avi. I don't really like the audio much that's in it, and I have another audio source, which I want to replace with.
I am sure I can do this with Virtualdub, but I have read some information on the guide and can't figure out how to do this. Anyone know how?
Thanks!

In the newer versions of virtualdub (I think 1.8.0 at least)
audio => audio from other file

Load the avi into VirtualDubMoD.
Go to Streams -> Stream List. You would see your current audio track highlighted under Available Streams.
Press the Disable button to disable the track.
Click on Add and add your replacement audio track.
Right-click on the stream and change the Interleave values (optional).
Click OK.
Press F7 and save as new AVI, while setting the Video Mode to Direct Stream Copy.

AVI_MUX_GUI will do a better job.
VDM does not support H264, aac and many other formats.
