Chapters *and* audio delay?

My understanding is that, in order to get chapters, you need to create an XML file for DivXMux to process. But reading the documentation on the XML format, there doesn't seem to be any way to specify the audio delay when using an XML file.

I'm using the raw AC3 files from a DVD, so reencoding to fix the delay isn't a viable option.

Any suggestions?
