What is the best MJPEG codec you've used?

Hey,

I'm looking for opinions from others about the best MJPEG codec they've used for video capture.

I've used only PicVideo's codec so far (http://www.jpg.com/video/mjpeg.htm) and it seems to do a good job. There is an $18 fee to purchace it which I'm willing to pay but I wanted to see if others have used an alternate codec with similar or better results.

I'm using PicVideo as well. Does a really good job. Although I didn't try different MJPEG codecs I read a lot about Morgan MJPEG and others in several forums, and everywhere they agreed that PicVideo is the best choice.

I did a quick test with Morgan, PicVideo and Lead MJPEG Codecs ( all VfW ).

PicVideo was the fastest ( ~20-25% faster than the other two codecs ) and Lead produced the smallest file ( Quality was set to 2 in all Codecs ( 98 in Morgan since it works the other way round ) ) and Morgan the biggest ( needed about 50% more bits than PicVideo; the difference between PicVideo and Lead was about 10% I think ).

So IMO PicVideo is the way to go and btw: it's the cheapest of the three MJPEG Codecs ^_^ .

i use it after i had some problems with the picvideo codec.
