Bluray or HD DVD Ripping

Hey guys im wanting to convert a mkv(rip) to mkv(smallerrip) but when I load the first mkv into avidemux its all blocking and jumps when I goto save it to an avi it doesnt even load in vlc player altho the size is the same so is there any other way ive tried doing it in virtualdubmod but its the same all blocking an jumpy. Any ideas why Ive been told to frame server from virtualdubmod to avidemux but when I goto do it and click Proxy in avidemux says it can't find it and ive even loaded the reg file in vdubmod and enabled the servers in aviproxy.exe.

Hi!

1) Which is it? Is your original source material an HD-DVD or a BluRay DVD?

2) If possible, it would likely be simpler and yield higher quality results, if you re-ripped the original HD-DVD or BluRay DVD source with the proper settings required to yield a smaller .MKV file than the first one you created
