Hi everyone,

I've been trying to catch up on all the new deinterlacing hotness (been a while since I've had to deinterlace anything). I've tried quite a few things, and the one that seems to look the best for me is yadifmod with nnedi.

Problem is in any panning scene I'm seeing alot of jerkiness in the picture, and I haven't found anything that smoothes it out. It's probably a problem with the source, but I haven't been able to figure out what it is.

Here is a sample link:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this source has blended fields.
also it seems like that the fields were cut through in the upper quarter when there is a new film-frame present.

you have to deblend this footage to achieve smooth motion.

Could you explain what you mean by the "fields were cut through"? Can this be fixed?

I searched for a deblending solution, and found both "deblend" and "cdeblend". I tried them both, and didn't have much success smoothing the motion.

Actually, hold that thought... I was probably using cdeblend incorrectly. I switched a few things around in my script and its definitely improved.

Thanks Scharafis!
