What values do you use for CRF encodes? Just a poll.

Hi,
I encode many of my files with the CRF option, and I wondered what Rate Factor you used. I'm not asking what is the best value, because I know there isn't any perfect value.

Personally, I use a value of 18 for real life video and 22 for anime.

Depending your target quality,

For Keeping a SIMM above 98.5 I use CRF 21, but to keep a SIMM above 99.0 I use CRF 19. These also depends on the source compresibility.

Why do you use fraction values??? I doubt you will see any difference between 20.4 and 21 or even 22

20 with AQ is a good compromise but still depends on the source details and resolution.
i'd say 21 or 22 (with AQ) is good for HD while 20 or 19 (again with AQ) is perfect for SD.
Obviously those settings are subjective.

yea, so i encode SD material in abr mode at 30mbs...
and HD at 60mbs :p
