x264 build 798 is FANTASTIC!!! 14% faster for me:)

I was using build 736 or similar before, i have an overclocked core2, was getting 28-29fps with some high quality settings for pdtv caps, now im getting 32-33fps on 1st pass and about 30fps on 2nd pass, quite impressed:)

just wanted to say thanks to those who help develop the codec!

i updated mp4box, libs and mkvmerge btw too in MeGUI, not sure if they were part of the speed increase or not but its great work. Takes me 2hrs 20mins to encode 95min football instead of 2hrs 50mins ish.

Yes the source is the same, i get the same fps for football on both the channels i record it from, much faster than normal:)

Yup, speed has gone up a heck of a lot :cool:

Its a combination of a whole lot of relatively small speed boosts--but they add up! A lot of the patches were mine, and most of the rest were pengvado's.

Well...what exactly are you doing?

~30fps...I get that when I encode to 576p material.
But mostly more than that. Overall I´d say...about 32fps usually (single pass).

I have a core2duo @3,15Ghz with 2GB Ram
1080i to 720p works for me @ about 9-12fps (single pass).

Pure downconversion with borders and all to keep compatible to my Samsung standalone.

Just evolved to WinVista 64bit...PROBLEMS over PROBLEMS with MeGui (Do NOT install MeGui to C:!!! Use ANYTHING else!)
I hope the 64bit releases come soon. As I think I´m losing a little bit of speed too, next to of all the Problems with MeGui.
