I like the new "copy ac3 stream" feature. It allows me to pass the raw audio direct to my AV receiver by using spdif connection.

Unfortunately i have no audio with powerdvd codecs. This are the codecs used on my media pc to play back with mediaportal.

This is what g-spot displays for the container:
mp42: MP4 v2 [ISO 14496-14]
- ndhd: <unknown>
- avc1: MP4 Base w/ AVC ext [ISO 14496-12:2005]
- isom: MP4 Base Media v1 [IS0 14496-12:2003]
Recommended Display Size: 720 x 428

Video has "avc1" and Audio has "AC3" as fourcc Def. For both defitions the rigth codes are registered.

GSpot claims "Codec Status Undetermined" for Audio and Video. VLC and PDVD fail with audio playback and i don't wanna use Showtime.

I have some knowledge about codecs, merrits etc. pp. But i'am unsure how i can modify either the fourcc recocnition of directshow (extend to accept the file as it is) or modify the codec informations directly in the mp4 outputfile to match the existing definitions.

Maybe someone can guide me on this topic? Any hint is appreciated.

ac3-in-mp4 is not following the mpeg-4 standard. using such private extensions include the danger that the files wont work in most players

Hello Bond,

thanks for your reply. I know that this combinaton is not standard mp4. Exactly this is the reason why i'am asking how to playback it.

This combination of h264 avc and AC3 together with an easy to use interface without all that whistles and bells and tools to build a smal Video/Audio file with acceptable quality is exactly what i need.

AAC may be standard conform audio for that type of container. But what is a standard worth if it is not implemented for years? My AV Receiver (and more than 99,99823 % of all relevant systems on the market) can play Dolby xyz, DTS, Neo but i did not find any AAC capable system.

I like to play this files with Zoomplayer or other Windows-MediaPlayers. Is this possible? Has someone a hint or solution? Any hint would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Globerex

Hi,

I always use an M2TS container or the AVCHD DVD file structure when I want to play MPEG-4/AVC video + AC-3 5.1 audio on my Playstation 3.

Works very good :)

It seams that Nero has given up it's "Nero Digital can only be played with Showtime" product policy. The former Codecs from Ahead denied to work, when the "calling" app was not Recode or Showtime.

Can someone approve that?

I've tried yesterday to setup with Nero Codecs and it works for example with "Nero MPEG4 Splitter" and Cyberlink h.264 and Cyberlink Audidecoder. This means Zoomplayer play's it.

Maybe Cyberlink will create an extension of it's own splitter to make it playable without Nero's splitter.

Works for me at the moment.
