mpc: support for extra large fonts?

hi, i have a lcd that has small pixel pitch and am using extra large fonts to make things readable. this makes the ui of some apps wonky.

here is how mpc looks:

the "help" is moved to a second row. if i resize the right side of the window just a few pixels longer than everything is on one row and looks normal again.

is it possible to make the default minimum width a little longer to account for this issue?

How about checking "Remember window size" in the options, then adjusting the window accordingly?

this creates other oddities because i watch videos with various resolutions



is it a lot of trouble to add support for extra large fonts?

Leak has already suggested a solution for you. There's nothing else "to be fixed". You need the main window to be wider, right?
So make it wider and that's it! No difference whether it will be stretched by you manually once or by application itself every time it is launched. :eek:

Nothing to be fixed? Having the "Help" show up on second row is correct behavior?

Why bother having an option for "Always on top"
Just click on mpc and it's on top. No difference whether it is done manually or by application itself every time. :eek:

Just move mouse to bottom of screen. No difference whether it is done manually or by application itself every time. :eek:

While you're working at making yourself sound even more ridiculous than before I can attest you that the problem doesn't exist anymore on Windows 7.

You'll be delighted to see that many "old" applications (including MPC-HC, but also stuff like Textpad) now look plain ugly with textsize set to 150 percent as the window itself is just zoomed by the DWM upon display - including resizing the ClearType fonts AFTER rendering them.

So it plainly looks like crap, but at least proportions stay intact:

(That's the MPC-HC window at it's smallest setting...)

would a developer look into adding proper window frame support?


the suggestions of:
* manually change the window size every time
* change operating system

are all useless
