XVID in MP4 Container?

Although all the XVID encoding I have done is to the .avi, .mkv, or .ogm containers, I believe I have read that it is possible to encode an mp4 or m4v file using XVID as the compression codec.

If that is so, I am wondering about the following--I have a lot of small XVID .avis encoded with AutoGK, that I used to watch videos on my Pocket PC.

Now I have a video Ipod, 5th generation 80GB. Is there any way I could convert these .avis (and a few .mkvs) to .mp4 or .m4v, playable on an Ipod, without re-encoding? In other words, just to change the container, without really changing the video? (For instance, with Virtualdubmod, it is possible to change the container from .avi to .mkv or .ogm etc., without re-encoding, by choosing "Direct Stream Copy" for both video and audio, and saving in the other container. Takes less than a minute.)

Is there any tool that can do that from .avi to .mp4 or .m4v (change the container without recompression), if the video is encoded with Xvid?

Try Yamb or Avidemux, ...


But, it's playable on an Ipod? I'm don't know.
