I have an HD WMV file that is 768kb 48kHz*24bit 5.1 audio and 1080p WVC1 video. It's 8GB in size and I've split it up to <2GB so I can watch it on my PS3. The video is fine but I don't get any audio.
Does the PS3 not support this audio and if not, what's the best way or best format to convert this to? RipBot264? I've tried different settings on my PS3 to be able to get the audio but no luck. I've confirmed the audio is there on my PC.
Thanks for any help.

The problem is the ps3 does not like wma 5.1 you need to demux
your wmv (cant remember how exactly only did it once before) and encode your wma 5.1 to a lower wma profile and mux back together then it will work im sure someone can help like i said i only did i once and cant remember exactly :)

Use Windows Media Encoder.
Windows Media Stream Editor can do the demux, and Windows Media Encoder itself can do the downconvert + re-encode. In fact, WME may be able to do it all without the demux.
It's possible that the PS3 will accept 5.1 AC3 in a WMV container... I haven't tried it. If you want, you can test by encoding the audio with Aften or ffmpeg (MeGUI is a good GUI for this), and then muxing with the video using SolveigMM WMV Muxer.
Post if you need help :)
