i was hoping that you could add a check box to disable the --aq-strength --aq-sensitivity switches being used in the command line so people can use the vanilla builds of x264 with AutoMKV.

Fixing things BEFORE people ask for them now :eek:

Have some encoding to do over Easter so will run them through the beta. MKV fan through and through so I'm unlikely to test WMV though.

This must be a bug: Xvid-AVI encoding takes about five times longer than in 0.95c (with same settings).

Can anyone please check the suspend-funktion? On my system it doesn't work. (it means going into standby-mode, doesn't it?)

amazing, m2ts support... if this works out like i'm hoping it will i'll love this. yes its my first post but i actually signed up for automkv .95 and when i realized i couldnt post for 5 days (i think thats what it was) i just left it alone. needless to say your work is much appreciated. this on top of anydvd HD support BD+ now is just fantastic news :)

working on trying a movie now that is in m2ts. the parsing of the files takes a bitl onger than i'd like but i'm in no way complaining about that after all things considered :)

will reply tomorrow upon my return from work to see if the resulting file (hopefully it results in a proper mkv, last time i tried something w/ mkv it just stalled out midway and i had nothin, have a feeling it was my fault though.)

I, however, am a WMV fan (due to media center extender). So i'll be testing this feature thoroughly. Is 5.1 in WMV still supported? What do I pick to get that to happen from a DVD with 6 channel audio? DPLII?

well i just realized why exactly i had problems using automkv before. and i dont think it has to do w/ automkv itself but i am unsure of where to ask about how to fix this problem.

once i hit start encode, it says "Encoding audio with AFTEN - First Normalizing Volume... wait" and aften.exe loads up and does its thing for a second, after 6% it just hangs though. any ideas as to why? if i abort the rest of the encoding process still happens from what i can tell though, are there any issues with aborting on that like audio not working or sounding proper?

Everything's looking great with the exception of lack of support for seamless branching - referring to movies which have 2 or more (up to 20+) main .m2ts files, which when put together make up the whole movie. You need support for this, or AutoMKV users won't be able to encode half the BD titles that are out there. The way to do this is concatenate the .m2ts files and the tool that does that best is TSSpliter, so I think it'd be a good idea to integrate it into AutoMKV. Problem is that it's kinda heavy, and it requires .NET Framework, so you should have a startup popup message or something like that which tells those users who don't have it that they need to install it. Another option would be to just have a message or some way of notifying the users that they need ot use TSSplitter if their movie uses seamless branching, and including it in the AutoMKV pack, maybe have a shortcut in the main dir, etc... I have absoutely no problem with using TSSplitter independently every time, but I don't know about other users.

Other than that, I've already encoded a bunch of titles and everyhing's looking great. Neuron2 has fixed that small audio garbage bug in dgAVCDec and will probably release a new alpha soon :) Thanks for all your help (and his). :D AutoMKV going HD = I like it :) :D

thanks for the suggestion, i'll give that a go today. but a question about that, does it normally HANG at 6% ? like nothing is changing on the dialog box whether it be % number or any of the times as far as time used and time remaining. :confused:

A warning sounds like the best idea to me too. TSSplitter is though, only 120KB, so you could include it in the final AutoMKV package, and maybe have a link to it in the GUI. But that's just a suggestion, I'm not sure if that would violate authoring laws or anything like that so... Just a warning would do too :)

hmm its been going for nearly 35 minutes now, not trying to nag.. but rather figure out why its doing what its doing.

i JUST looked at the thing, its still stuck at 6%, its always 6% no matter what movie i try it with... but this doesn't bother me so much as the other thing i've found, source position is showing past the total length of the audio...

for example its saying:

"Source Position : [00:09:17] of [00:00:37]"

that sounds to me like its not reading the right file or something i don't exactly know, and like i said i dont know if this has anything to do w/ autoMKV or if it has something to do with AFTEN ( if thats the case, any place you could direct me to for further assistance? )

Just curious, do the audio delay options work in this beta ? I've been having some delay problems, but the delay isn't fixed, it starts perfectly in the beginning and as the movie progresses it gets worse until near the end it's at about a second. So far I've only tried DelayAudio in SoundOut and currently testing the other two. Do you think the problem may be in dgAVCDec?

well i'm using a m2ts directly off of one of my blu-ray discs, it hasn't been altered and the m2ts plays fine in power-dvd. in the audio drop down i'm choosing the right "stream" leaving it as AC3 and what not. the thought hadnt crossed my mind to try the audio as mp3 instead of AC3 but i'll give it a shot.

since i hadn't posted the top half here.. i'll update you in the same post :))

just tried using Lame as the option in the audio as opposed to AC3 and its actually converting and it got past 6% !!!!1 :) i wonder why it did what it was doing with AC3, if its an issue with ac3 that my computer has (it'll play fine *shrug*) i'll just use lame as i dont need highest quality sound, i'm just making these backups of my movies for storage and ease of access purposes.

will update upon completion of the conversion fully.

The xvid encoding speed of the beta2 is o.k. now, thanks for fixing it.

The safe-deinterlace funktion works like charme :)

There is still a problem when using AVI-XviD as default setting: After starting the program the settings are o.k. After loading a video-file the audio bitrate slider jumps back to 112, no matter what the user's choosen before. I described it before under http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1105473#post1105473
Not a big thing but it would be comfortable if AutoMKV would remember these settings.

Found a problem with the Suspend functionality - it assumes that windows is installed in C:\Windows drive and directory whereas in my case Windows is E: drive so I get the following error message when it attempts to suspend.

Encoding to Nero AAC 6 channel failed on a TV Series I batched last night, but suspect it's more likely a problem with the source.
EDIT: Strange the sources are encoding fine now whether using delayaudio or delaycut.

Hey all,

I'm having the worst time with WMV encoding! I want to put my large library of TV shows on DVD into a format that compresses easily, quickly, and streams to my Xbox. WVC1 seems to be the best choice, so I turn to trusty old AutoMKV. :) It errors out and says the muxed size was -1 bytes. Here's the funny thing: if I run the encoding command line option into a command prompt, it errors out. If I change the very end of the encoding string, the audio option, from 16 to 24, it encodes fine on the command prompt! I don't have a log, I'll do an encode to get one if you need an example.

I know that, what I was trying to say is, if you just change that one little thing, it all works flawless! Converts the audio/video, muxes, plays back in Xbox, everything. Unless there were other reasons for switching it, I think the old system might have still worked.

i know.. but wmcmd.vbs was very picky about source and more about audio

as i said i offer MAX support for WORKING (good at least) application, but in that case Microsoft are trashing away consumer and prosumer, as well all encoding entusiast.

I dislike this behavior, but till MS will not offer a better tool (better for me, developer) WMV will not have a good support.
That's all.

I can support a PAID encoder (look at DivX 6.8 support in this release) but ACTUALLY Microsoft don't offer consumer/developer friendly (and i don't mean Windows Media Encoder) encoder that don't cost too much

i hope that is this beta phase users will give opinions on new vc1 encoding.. if positive i will keep it.. otherwise i will probably remove wmv support.

Please don't remove wmv! Good free wmv encoders that are fast and support vc1 are so hard to come by...

What I was talking about earlier with 0.95c was on server 2003. I tried 0.95 on vista without UAC or DEP and it worked! 0.96 still doesn't work on Vista...same error.

I'm having some delay issues still. Like I mentioned before, it's progressing throughout the mux, starting at almost nothing and increasing until at the end the difference between audio and video is over a second. you have a progressive video, so no conversion of framerate is done (also .. you encode with nero at 1.00 quality.. maybe you get a file larger then original...)

the only thing that could break the syncro is the muxing..

first of all the movie file and the audio files (the encoded ones) are long the same ?

... could your try mux in mp4 and check the synch ?

last one: i suppose you used the dealycut in last encoding.. please check also the delaycut log (should be movie....log)

ok finally able to give this program a whirl again. i'm still having trouble converting my blu-ray rips to mkv with this program, and i dont think it has to do with the source, as its directly from my blu-ray discs which i can try to rip again?

but either way, when i select Lame as the audio after x264.exe opens the first time, i get an error and it just closes.... it'll promptly open again and start doing something else, after that finishes it closes and opens another x264.exe window and while that window is open automkv crashes. this doesn't happen with AC3 selected (but with AC3 i have the afforementioned 6% hang problem for well over an hour so i havent even bothered leaving it past that ;P ) where automkv crashes, the first x264.exe window still crashes for some reason but the rest of the process completes no problem.

all of these problems are on vista x64, which unlike a lot of people i don't often have problems with programs so i dont know whats going on. and i appologize if this comes off like i'm crying, just trying to figure out these bugs. any logs i can post or something? if its against the rules i'll edit out the movie names or something but they are my own discs andi 'm just trying to store them in a more space efficient way

edit: forgot to mention i'm going to try Copy Original now with the audio instead of AC3 and Lame, i'll let you know how that works out. and also when using M2ts files my only complaint is that it has to process the files when you select them as input BUT its not that it processes them, you get a movie.dga file which if i select as the input file it works for video, but it asks me for audio... what file do i select for audio? it doesn't seem to read the movie.dga file properly when selecting it and i don't get "movie.dga PID 1100 3_2ch-640kbps.ac3" that i would have if i had selected m2ts as the input file to begin with. any suggestions? long winded and i'm sorry but i really don't know how to put this in other words
