HI guys I decided to really create a simple Blu Ray Project with Pop Up Menus .
Movie starts playing and when viewer hits Pop up menu or Top Menu
the chapters appear 11 choices that's the project .
Did everything right from Photoshop to Encoding the Ig's to muxing it with Scenarist . I Even connected the buttons to the chapters .
When simulated the movie it plays but the pop up doesn't pop . ,
2 issues I have .
1 ) BD Emulator seems to always crash ? do you guys get this
2) the pop up isn't popping up . Scenarist manual doesn't seem to cover this topic in detail .
Can any one help .
Thanks

I don't use the BD Emulator at all anymore since I have never gotten it to work properly from the start. It usually seemed to freeze, crash or simply not play any of the material. I also find Nero Showtime useless for actually playing the finished project although it is extremely useful for testing the muxed m2ts files to make sure there is no skipping and the audio is in sync. PowerDVD is useless also as it 'works' in playing the project but green blocks make it impossible to tell if it is working properly or not. I've found the only way to test if the project is working is to burn the image file to a BD-RE and test it out in my PS3. I haven't found a viable solution to test on the computer as of yet.
Make sure the popup is set to 'Pop Up' instead of 'Always On' in the Display Set.

I don't have a BD burner, and I am burning to DL dvd discs, and the PS3 is not playing anything with a menu so far.
I posted this just know in XolocoTuxmaster's Quick Blu-ray content (BD, BD-5 and BD-9) authoring guide (PS3+PowerDVD) thread.
Will this structure allow for a menu to be included in the disc yo be played back on a PS3 ?
I keep getting the PS3 to start playing the 'AVCHD' disc and then it errors out, I'm using the nero files to get the disc recognised. Without a menu it plays fine.
Can a hybrid 'AVCHD' disc have menus or am I waisting my time ?
Cheers.
Ignore the comments above, I forgot to a simple step, which rendered it unplayable.
Yopu can have menus on a Blu-ray burned to a DVD.

Personally my gut would say that a non-BD disc can't have a menu, or at least a pop-up menu since that is one of the things that was specifically designed and implemented for Blu-Ray (and HD DVD), although I am anything but an expert on such matters since I've never attempted to play around with AVCHD having a BD Burner and I have only read chunks here and there on the format. One of the people who has done projects with it I'm sure has a definitive answer on the subject.
