View Full Version : FF/Rewind is now working on PS3 with streamed 720p M2TS files?

Hi there - I have been converting 720p MKVs to AVCHD's using the methods described in this forum, but have just tried putting all the 720p M2TS files onto my Twonky MediaServer (Linux) and I am able to fast forward/rewind without losing audio sync. This was after applying the new 2.17 PS3 firmware update.

This is good news indeed as it means I don't have the hassle of converting to a blu-ray structure and then writing to disc. Anyone else had success with this?

Cheers,
Andy

I didn't have any problems with older firmware.

how are you streaming your m2ts files? are you converting them at all?

M2ts files (h264, mpeg2) I stream without converting, Vc-1 I use megui to convert to h264.
720p mkv I use tsMuxer and I use Mediatomb on a Mac to stream.
Oh, and if the audio has to be converted from the m2ts then, once the audio is converted, I use tsMuxer to remux to a .ts or m2ts file.

I just use txmuxer to create the .m2ts files from .mkv files, converting the video level to 4.1 (PS3-compliant) and then streaming with Twonky Media Server with no transcoding at all.
