Weird ReplaceFramesSimple (stickboy's RemapFrames) problem

For some reason, when previewing frames (in avsp, I haven't tried other programs since it's the most comfortable), ReplaceFramesSimple causes weird issues.

Sometimes a frame surrounding (or the frame I'm currently looking at) will be "replaced" (but only in this session, seems to be related to seeking) by the first frame of the video or the previous/next frame.

I use ReplaceFramesSimple to adjust brightness/contrast for individual parts of the video (since I do the TV->PC color conversion, I need to adjust it or it looks blah), or excluding sections of the video from some filters (eg not denoising sections with small snow).


I frame by frame the video in AvsP to do this, and when there's a scene change that requires adjusting I go back a few frames to find the first frame of that scene.

The problem is that RFS sometimes shows this frame as another frame (as described above, prev/next frame) which makes it hard to tell which frame the scene change occurs on.

As a result, the contrast/brightness/denoising range doesn't start on the first frame of a new scene, but one/two frames too early/too late, which is noticeable to the viewer.

Note that this happens even with nothing but the source filter and RFS loaded.

A scene change.
This is where the "first frame of the video" thing happens (though it doesn't exclusively happen on scene changes, it can happen anywhere). The green frame is the first frame of the video - a quirk my HDTV card has. Occasionally the first 1-2 frames are green.

I'm really desperate about this and have no idea how to go on about this anymore =/

Best 1st guess is the Source filter does NOT support frame exact seeking. Use a different source filter or transcode with pure linear access to an intermediate lossless format like huffyuv.

Is Nero's decoder being used? I periodically get green frames with that even without any filters.
