Im trying to convert a bunch of mkv files to the proper mp4 format so that they will playback on my 360. So far, all the mkvs I have contain h.264/AVC video and ac3 audio. Now Ive been using MeGUI for some of my mkvs with great success, but most of mine contain subtitle files that I need to be hard coded into the video.
This is where Im stuck, Im trying to find out if there is a method of doing the entire conversion (perhaps using MeGUI or a combination of other apps) that also hard codes the subs correctly to the video in a batch mode. I have alot of these files, so it would be nice to be able to set it all up and just let it run without having to take extra steps like extracting the subs from each mkv seperately. Is there a good method for that or will I need to use a few programs to accomplish the task?

What are these files and where did you get them?

The source is anime, a few that are dubbed so there is no need to deal with subs, and then the majority that do come with subs.

Hi!
It would be simpler and result in higher quality video, if you converted directly from the original source material (presumably DVDs) to your desired .MP4 format.
BTW - Why did you convert the original source material to .MKV format if you require .MP4 format?

Oh, sorry, I didnt make that clear.
These are fansubbed videos, not something ripped from a dvd. Most groups that do fansubbing now use mkv containers and add the subs as external parts instead of hard coding them to the videos. Now Im looking for a method of taking those and batch processing them into the format I need.

wow, well then I apoligize for that. I didnt realize that anime would be considered under that rule. Besides, there has been plenty of thread covering the conversion of such material and even encoders devoted to it.
Well then I leave up to the moderators if they feel this thread needs to be closed.
But if it isnt deemed that way, then I would still appreciate some help on the matter.
