Evening all,

I generally use AutoGK for my DVD to Avi rips. Is there something better than that these days since AutoGK is getting quite old now.

Interested in recommendations for software to do this task.

You can try FairUse Wizard

or
FAVC

Thanks for those links. I'll give them a whirl.

Note btw that Fairuse Wizard is free "for a limited time". I use it, but my favorite tool post-AGK is StaxRip.

umm, last time I checked, asking for recommendations was NOT against the rules. It'd be a lost cause even if they did try to implement and enforce a rule like that, as it's one of the first dozen questions a newcomer wants answered.

When you recommend something to somebody, you are essentially saying "I think this will meet your needs." While it is implied that your suggestion is the best one you know of, by requesting recommendationS, as in 2 or more recommendations, the validity of multiple options is implied. (In other words, "There's more than one way to skin a cat".)

Use of "the best" is verboten here...

You're right, I didn't notice that. My apologies

AutoGK stills works great, like a vintage Rolls Royce, but if you want to be modern, I vote for Dr DivX, available as part of the big KLite package or separately (Google it).

Works for me.
