Hi,

I'm building a new HTPC and I want it to be used as a pre/pro for external sources (like STB).

From the AC3 FAQ I understand that it is possible to capture AC3 bitstream with certain sound cards, but I still have few questions:

1. Is it possible to do live decoding of the input bitstream ?

2. Is it possible to also capture/decode DTS ?

Thanks.

Yes, under Windows system this can be done by AC3Filter which recognize and decode AC3/DTS.

I'm interested in this issue also, since now I have the Auzentech Prelude 7.1 that does not include on-the-fly DTS/AC3 Decode through SPDIF Input, how AC3Filter can be used in the same situation as the original poster.
