Hi,
I searched around for hours now for a guide to convert a blu-ray title to something more convenient (e.g. wmv, mkv, ...).
So far all the guides I came across are starting with 'select the main m2ts file'...
That already I cannot do:
- on the blu-rays I checked there are (title A) 58 m2ts files and (title B) 82 m2ts files!!!
Is there just one single file of these that contains the whole movie with all the audio/subtitles/etc. ???
<EDIT>
no, there isn't - could be many files to 'build' the main movie...
</EDIT>
OK, this might be the case for title B - there '00000.m2ts' is about 30Gig, but for title A: '00000.m2ts' is just about 0.5Gig, '00008.m2ts' is 6.5Gig and '00038.m2ts' is 6.9Gig - what's the main movie file here? (there a 3 more files over 1Gig, the remaining 53 files are 12Gig altogether)
Isn't there something comparable to the .ifo files in DVD times, so that the main movie needs not to be guessed but just picked from that information?
<EDIT>
yes, there is...
it's the playlists within the PLAYLIST folder!
</EDIT>
What are all the other m2ts files then? In sum they're much bigger than those two 00008 and 00038 together (title A at least)...
Any chance, the main movie is split into several m2ts files?
- if so, how to find them?
<EDIT>
in principal, those nice tools like txmuxerGUI for example just need an option to open the .mpls files, so the separate m2ts files which belong together could be selected and concatenated automatically...
</EDIT>
What's a good guide to start Blu-Ray matters?
- including the technical aspects, skipping the ripping
cheers,
guru
