(MKV) h.264 to Blu-Ray??

I've looked up and down the net for this answer, and have yet to find one. I've come across ways to convert Blu-Ray rips to the h.264 format, but I have not come across to do the exact opposite: convert h.264(mkv) back into the Blu-Ray format to burn onto a DVD-DL or BD-R Disc to play on a stand-alone Blu-Ray player that's not a PS3. Is there a way? or am I wasting my time?

Why not just copy from your original? Converting from a lossy copy is silly.

Will that work? I thought Scenarist had to always be used to create the blu-ray structure.

Why convert again, when you can just burn what you've got?

coz it wont work (unless he already compressed the video with blu-ray compatible parameters... but i seriously doubt it).

Do the above 2 statements add up to me being able to create a blu-ray on DVD9 without the use of Scenarist or any other paid s/w (having had the foresight of encoding audio+video with compatible settings). Or is there still an obstacle?
