Hybrid Content

Ok i need a little help as i have not delt or had to encode hybrid material before.

I'm backing up my Witchblade dvd which according to the script dif4u gave is of hybrid content, the the credits are interlaced and the episodes are progressive except every so often in the episodes there's the odd interlaced frame, so going by this i can't do what i did with ergo proxy and encode the credits and episodes separately.

The script that dif4u gave is
Telecide()
Decimate(mode=1,threshold=3)

But i was wondering if anyone knows a script that would give me a better result or will that script do fine ?

Also what do i do about encoding ?? as when i load the script into VD the video footage looks progressive but the file info shows the framerate to be 29.970 so when encoding do i set CCE to interlaced??

Set CCE to progressive if the content is progressive. The frame rate is not relevant.

I think it's fair to say that tritical's tools handle hybrid material better than Telecide/Decimate. But they are more complex to use. It's hard for us to judge what you consider "fine".

Thanks, fine for me is smooth playback all the way through. I was thinking maybe i could do like i did with ergo proxy, encode the opening and ending credits interlaced and encode the episodes progressive although i think i need to change the script for the episodes as they are mainly film (around 96-97%) although i not sure what i would need in the script, tried Decimate(mode=3,threshold=1) seemed ok, problem is i don't want to waste my time encoding and then it doesn't play smooth or there's a jagged edge's.

Or just activate "Inverse 3:2 pulldown","3:2",and "Auto 2-pass detection" if you're using CCE SP.

I never use the internal filters or those option in cce. On the episodes seen as they are more or less completely progressive i tried
Telecide(guide=1)
Decimate(mode=3,threshold=1.0)
Like the Decomb manual says as it's mostly film but what concerns me is the manual says "blend decimating each cycle of frames from 5 frames to 4 frames", will using this cause the audio to go out of sync as there now will be a frame or two less ??

No. Fewer frames but lower framerate as well. The length remains the same.

Hi there... I am having a wierd problem with this DVD, thinking if anyone else had experienced this...

Here is the thing, I am trying to make a DVD9 fit to a DVD5. The main VTS contain two angles and one of them I couldn't care less, so I deleted it (600mb worth of space) using PgcEdit and then processed the whole thing with VobBlanker.

The thing is... everything is working OK, BUT the seek-bar on MPC (last version) will crash the program every time I try to navigate trough the movie. The audio will keep playing just fine, but the image will freeze and I am forced to Alt+F4 out of it.

Another important thing is that if I simply let the VTS play at its normal rate everything goes smooth to the end, and also the skip/next button works wonders, its just trying to use the seek-bar that will crash the damnit thing. Already tried remapping the time table without success and using VTSFix instead of VobBlanker is not an option since the last version released do not process very well Multi-Angles and will give me all sorts of troubles. Also made an attempt with "DVD Remake PRO" and the outcome was the same as VobBlanker.
