Avidemux's libmpeg2enc

A Google search of this MPEG-2 encoder yields next to nothing. Was it built just for Avidemux? I'm doing a test run on an XviD to DVD conversion using Avidemux, and just wanted to see if there were websites documenting its quality.

Mpeg2enc is part of MJPEG Tools (http://mjpeg.sourceforge.net/).

Hmmm silly me. Avidemux's MPEG-2 encoding is provided by libavcodec. Isn't this also used in QuEnc?

My first test run using Avidemux for MPEG-2 re-encoding came out entirely messed up with a file of 144kb. I'll have to follow Lord_Mulder's tutorial and see if that changes anything!
