Megui Bitrate Selection

Just wondering whether someone can tell me the difference between two sections where you can enter the bittrates.

1. Config Video Profile (eg. HQ Slow) and change that to 1500

2. When you choose Auto Encode and change the average bitrate to 1500

I had encoded a fille approximately 11 minutes long as a test. The first choice produced a 140mb file and the second produced a file 123mb.

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

The profile contains a default bitrate you can change. This is used for manual encoding.
Autoencode wont use the bitrate stored in the profile (unles you tell to do it) and it wont even change it. Instead it will do what you specify in the autoecode window.

this might sound like a stupid question, does this mean it won't actually use the profile or use it's own?

It will use the profile but ignore the bitrate entry in it.
