reuse .stats for different resolution?

I've been doing two encodes of my videos on 1280x720 and the other 640x360.

My question is with two pass encoding using x264 can I skip the first pass for the second encode and resuse the .stats from the first encode?

You could try; I'm not sure I would recommend it though, especially since a new firstpass would be quite fast at that resolution.
