Hey peeps,
Ok. I was wondering if there are any settings to speed up the encoding of the svcds. I am using cce v 2.5 SP. I have a 1.2GHz and 512 Megs of SDRAM. It runs in an extremely low speed. In 2 pass vbr it takes like 8 hours. I find that it often locks up while encoding. Probably because it runs for so long. I am not running any other applications so I don't know why it would.

I would like a little more information like what encode speed is that running? mine for example is 1.4 or above.

Another things what type of CPU/Motherboard are you using?

1 more question that could help what type of movie Pal/NTSC?

I am trying to encode in ntsc. I have a 1.2 GHz Athlon Thunderbird, with an iWill KK266 mobo. I don't remember encode speed but it was like 1.6 or something like that.



Lol i'm running win98. Does the os affect it much?

Well if your hitting 1.6 with a 1.2 thunderbird you are going real fast so i would say lucky you:) Ummm a 2 pass will take hours 2 do if you want a faster way try cbr or 1 pass vbr with a q factor of 5

Sorry to dig this topic up, but I had the same question about speed?

I am using DVDtoSVCD but my encoding speed in CCE is only reaching 0.343

I have a 1.3 ghz Athlon thunderbird.
512 megs of RAM.
An ABIT KT7A w/Raid
I have updated to the newest VIA 4 in 1 drivers
I also am running Windows 2000 with Service pack 2.

One last note. I am frameserving from Virtualdub, only a resize filter applied. It is a multisegment capture.

Any ideas on why this is so slow. I am reading all over that people are getting around .9 with a 1.3 ghz Is there something I can try?
