View Full Version : Audio sync gradually lost with DVB-T rips

Hi
I use to rip analog TV shows using the "old hard way", I mean:
1 - dvd2avi
2 - BeSweet for mpa to wav
3 - Gordian Knoth (to crop, resize, etc)
4 - virtualdub with Xvid 2 passes
Now I've a DVB-T card so I use the same procedure but my rips are losing audio sync progresivelly so when you are watching a one hour ripped show you come to the end watching one thing and listening a different one.
Its sad. I know there are software to help to solve this but I wonder how can I make the rips without this problem.
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance

here's the standard best quality technique:
1. use tuner capture show in transport stream format
2. load .ts or .tp file into projectx, clip off start and end overlaps, select PID numbers, demux.
3. load demuxed file into cuttermaran or mpeg2schnitt, clip out ad's.
4. do whatever you want next .. encode, remux using mplex or something else.
Using that technique - projectx will remove any errors while keeping the video & audio in sync (unless its a really bad signal - in which case nothing from it will be watchable anyway).
All this information can be found in multiple guides elsewhere, once again stated here for your inability too search.

What's the advantage over cutting with ProjectX?

Projectx can only cut on I frames, the others can cut on B frames (at end) but they must start on I frame, so allows for a more precise cut.

You certainly mean P frames here, not B frames.
