Can someone tell me how to get Windows Media Player to play DVD's?

hit up the FFDShow-tryouts in the
new codecs forum about half way down

its more or less a library of codecs/filters

you might want to look into the MPC-HC project down in software players

I guess I'm just a slow learner Shinigami.....what can I say? Since I don't watch DVD's on my computer.....maybe that's the reason.....I just put one in last night to preview it and learned about the codec problem then.

MPC or MPC-HC are able to reproduce DVDs even without any codec installed.

its slow, laggy, doesn't support many formats, I think you can make it support them though

MPC/HC look exactly like WMP6.4 but are much more functional and pretty lightwieght than either QT and WMP, plus you'll get a lot more support from people around here if you run into troubles with them

I use MPC for everything :) Audio, video, etc.

VLC is also an option for users that want something that will play almost anything no matter how incomplete or messed up your codec collection is.

As MPC is overall faster and I like seeing what outputs if you use DirectShow (I use ffdshow so no codec probs) I prefer it.
