[Help] Xvid avi joiner

Hi guys,
i'm searching for a command line avi (xvid) joiner.
My goal is to merge (join) togheter more avi (xvid) files using a simply command line application.

I'm using mencoder but when I try to merge more than 1.4 GB files the result is a black video.

In this package you will find also an application named "Avimerge". But I'm unable to find a comiled version compatible with Windows.

Anyone of you are able to compile this transcode package or someone know another application that can help me ?

VDub will do the trick with its command line EXE :)

As for mencoder, 'fraid I can't help you.

Umh... I'm a little bit noob with Virtual dub... how can you use him as command line to merge more files togheter ?
Searching on the web I found something about jobs, script... but i'm a little bit confused.

Can you give me more information? Or maybe and example on how to merge 10 avi files togheter...

um, have you tried avimerge. i beleive its part of transcode.

i didnt even know windows had a command line <@: ) .
my suggestion then would be to use a live-cd/ dvd/ usb and try to install transcode on it. i havent tried it on knoppix-live so i hope you dont fall into dependacy hell.

can windows compile from source. i know it isnt the usual way for installing programs but since ms didnt make transcode there is no native version. if not you are stuck on compiling it for a live-distro of linux.

windows usually has gui programs and there are a lot of batch (command-line) programs in linux. ones not better or worse; it is just a fundamental difference in the normal use of each os.

Actually I found a "new" (dated 09/2007) release of mencore (for windows) that fix my >2h problem.

If you load the first AVI file into Virtualdubmod (and all files are labeled chronologically) then File->Append Segment it will join all 10 files automatically.
