Guys,

I've search and googled and have tried several freeware programs to no avail.

Here's the scenario. If I have a DVD that has an AC3 5.1 English soundtrack only and NO stereo option, how can I rip this with Decrypter, or do a post processing on the ripped VOB files that allows me to convert the ac3 audio stream to 2 channel stereo?

I routinely rip movie scenes and include them as embedded mpeg files inside powerpoint presentations. The problem is I often play these powerpoint presentations on computers that do NOT have ac3 audio codecs and as a result, end up with no sound to acompany the dvd clip.

Please tell me there's a simple answer to this.

Thanks!

Use BeSweet/BeLight. Moved to IFO/VOB Editors.

Another one and as for me a very good quality tool is HeadAC3he (v. 0.23 or 0.24).
In both apps to pay attention to the LOG. It reports a clipping during conversion process. If you get a clipping you must either reduce an output gain or use more strong dynamic compression.

Moved to Audio Encoding.
