I recently bought a MCE remote control (RC6) with IR603 USB IR receiver and the thing works flawlessly in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center. But when i try to use it in MPC-HC, the only keys that work are STOP, Framestep and Volume Up/Down. I tried various remote utilities like uICE, Girder, HIP and whatnot, but none of them seem to work with this remote. What bothers me that it works in Microsoft progs, so i guess there should be a way to make it work in MPC, so i tried with the key binding under the Options->Keys, but can't figure it why STOP works, but PLAY and others do not, whatever i do? So I'm wondering if there is any way to "teach" MPC to use this remote or maybe a setting under the "Keys" tab? Or maybe Casimir666 can (if you have time? :)) make the changes in MPC-HC, so it can read remote codes/keys from Windows Media Player? Thanks.

Search for mceir plugin for grider, maybe you will be able to make it work, I haven't try.

If some one will want to integrate it into MPC it is very easy, mceir is open source with nice C api.

Thanks for the info, i tried it and it somewhat works, although still it doesn't recognize all the keys, unfortunately those i need the most (Play, pause), i guess i have a remote that's not supported, although it's weird, because it says it supports RC6 remotes, maybe the receiver is different (IR603). Maybe it has something to do with Vista.

Maybe, I tried it on XP with my own software and it works without problems. Try changing driver, it is included in mceir. But then MP and VMC will probably not work.
