so what do you think....?

Better for what?

How can we make a subjective judgment here without seeing the clips?

sorry

i mean which one is the better quality? I thought if i say the resolution and bitrate will be enought because the first one has smaller resolution but higher bitrate and the second one is the opposite.... So i cant decide which one to encode to avi....

If all other factors are equal I would choose the 704x576 because it won't need to be resized and you have more picture information to start with.

so can we say that the bigger resolution somehow compensate the lower bitrate...?
I'm using VirtualDub + Avisynth and the output avi will be something like 640x480, bitrate: ~2048kbps

and i need to read more about this cinema craft encoder...it seems me interesting ;)

I said if all other factors are equal. If one is bit starved it will have more blocking. That would not be an equal factor. Without seeing your clips, it's impossible to know if the bitrates are adequate.
