When authoring a DVD with 23.976fps video is it required for the video to have the 3:2 pull down flags? Or will the DVD player automatically do 3:2 pull down without the flags?
I work for a company who developed a small DVD authoring app, and we have a user complaining that our current code forces a transcode when supplied a 23.976 video. I'm looking into the possibility of allowing it to pass straight through, but the spec isn't 100% clear as to whether the pull down flags are required or not.
Does anyone know what the true requirements are?
