It seems that the forum clock is running late..I just posted and the timestamp shows 8:47PM but the clock is 9:21PM here.

Yep, The time is now text at the bottom of every page is about 33 mins slow.

It's always been synched, once a day. All of a sudden it's waaay off so now it's synching every hour, don't know why it's so slow but...

try replacing the CMOS battery. it should fix it.

if that doesn't fix it the system timer is *******, that happened to me before...

I don't know how other NTP clients work, but with the Windows one if the clock goes too far off it goes into some error state and won't synchronise with the servers. I don't know how far off it has to be for this to happen.

It's simpler than that, it was just my bad memory... I updated and restarted the server some days ago and forgot that I'd just tested the ntpdaemon, not added it to the startup (which I've now done).

So all the blame on me this time. ;)
