Kind of vague title. Sorry for that. Here's a summary:
1. Using Yamb, I demuxed an avi file (h264 inside). I now have a raw h264 file.
2. Using Yamb with ANY mp4box build, I mux a raw h264 file into an mp4 container. The mp4 file just doesn't want to play with media player classic. The MPC window shrinks considerably in size and displays a very small box with a distorted whitish picture. Sometimes the file doesn't do anything. I just freezes.
3. But.....the raw h264 file plays just fine with MPC
4. I can mux the raw h264 into an mkv container using mkvmerge. The mkv file plays just fine in MPC.
The raw h264 file seems to be ok. It appears that Yamb (mp4box) is screwing up somehow.
That about sums up what I have been working with.
It's important that this file plays with MPC because when it works with MPC, it works with the xbox 360. My experience, anyway.
So what gives? Are there any alternatives to Yamb that I can try out for muxing an h264 file into an mp4 container?
Thanks
