EVOB (Enhanced VOB) compareable with VOB's?

Hello!

I hope I am posting this question to the right thread. My Question is short. Is the EVOB - format compareable with the VOB format? The VOB-format is nothing else than a mpeg2 program stream. Is this right for a EVOB? (I mean from the bitsyntax). And if not, is it like a mp4-Container?

Hope anyone could explain that to me.
