Why do you think the reigns need to be taken up? Have the original developers stopped developing it?

That's been the impression I've been getting, there is a thread dedicated to it at avsforum (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=395744) in which Cris posts and he's pretty well given every indication that he's not going to be developing it much.
In particular read this post: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=12497933&postcount=2063

I see. Well, that's unambiguous.
Too bad it uses MFC; I refuse to install that.

Perhaps someone could port the MFC interface to qt or wxwidgets. I wonder how difficult that would be (or whether there would be a better gui front-end alternative). Would go a long way towards un-marrying this project from windows as well.

I thought I already had posted saying this, but anyways!
I read somewhere that development of this great programme won't proceed any further, which is a shame since in my opinion its the easiest and most viable free solution to extract different streams out of a .ts file (with basic editing), well at least thats what I use it for anyway. This is especially useful if different streams of the same channel have different programming on them.
The preview window is a little small, so maybe if someone takes up the reigns a larger preview window could be incorporated?
