I just picked up a Toshiba HD-A3 standalone HD player - primarily for its excellent upconverting of standard DVDs.
I noted that it has a USB 2.0 port, identified in the documentation as being "for future use".
My question is, does anyone have any ideas as to how to use this port for "present use"?;>}

It is for connecting joysticks, keyboards and mice. These controller devices can be used in HDi.

@evdberg
Thanks for the insight.
I was hoping that it might somehow be usable for output, rather than input ;>}

Have you connected a USB flash drive up to it and attempted to play various media files? :)

@Inventive Software
Thanks for your suggestion but, yes, I've already tried that - to no avail. However, that falls into the category of "input", while I was wondering about "output" via the USB 2.0 port - such as writing TO a thumb drive, or output to some other type of hardware...
