ANy dvd/clone dvd devotee. used all in all combos. just cant get the movie is using some new code that no one program has caught up with?it has to have with the file vob2 dont quote me, i need to post the file i will. I need a sanck right now so thats what Im thinking about.

What? Are you trying to decrypt Gone Baby Gone? Just say that, and state the problems you are having specifically. We don't care about you wanting a "sanck" (yeah, I spelled that right).

Hi!

If your post means you are having trouble decrypting the standard DVD version of "Gone Baby Gone" (and not the Bluray version), be advised that RipIt4me (I used v.1.6.4) handled it effortlessly...

BTW - I can't imagine AnyDVD having a problem with it.

I tried both rip it for me as well as any dvd both unsucessful I will check to see wether I own blue-ray or regular dvd, as that may very well be the problem, .:thanks:

why would I be? All I know is it didnt work and I dont know why. why would i be kidding about that? I also have several dvd players, hd and regular, so I dont pay attention to my discs. So?

If the OP referring to the SD DVD Region 1 release and they are running Windows Vista this is one of the few movies that appears to require SP1 when using AnyDVD due to a UDF issue involving Vista. Other than that there shouldn't be any issues with AnyDVD and CloneDVD.

It should be noted that it has been reported that many bad pressings of this disc were released. It appears that the quality of the media used left much to be desired, as well.

Just to clarify, if you are using Windows Vista then you may need Vista SP1 to back up Gone Baby Gone.

With Windows XP there are no issues with the disc.

I thought about installing the SP1 for Vista but some forums are saying that it "breaks" some software once installed. Until I learn what software products it breaks I won't install it.

Refer to Microsoft's Knowledge Base article: Information about programs that are known to experience a loss of functionality when they run on a Windows Vista Service Pack 1-based computer (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935796). I'm sure there are more problems than that list, of course.

As for handling the movie I still haven't gotten a definitive answer. It seems some people with Vista SP1 have successfully done it. The easiest way is to just make the backup on an Windows XP system.

Apparently the disc should be fine on Vista if you have AnyDVD running in the background and use something like DVD Shrink or Nero Recode.

Hi!Gone Baby Gone does not even show any files on the diskHold the Shift key down, put the disc in your drive, keep holdong Shift key down until after the disc has completed loading...

i've seen some people on the internets have problems with this disc. i am also trying to put it on my portable media player but transcode seems to crash then overnight it eventually creates an xvid with the first chapter missing.
using lsdvd i get this

maybe this is the problem. chapter 1 contains 7 cells (what exactly is a cell ?) i never seen a dvd chapter with more than 1 cell.
vobcopy fails when it gets to VTS_01_1.VOB. mencoder seems to freeze when it begins. and dvd decryter on windows fails after 20 retries.
is there any possibilty in recording the first few scenes of the moo-vee ?

dvdfab hd (i think version 5) on windows was able to rip the first chapter.

i never seen a dvd chapter with more than 1 cell.
Perfectly legal and seen frequently. See if your rip open correctly in PgcEdit or DVD Remake Pro (http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/index.php)
