I gave up half way through, you shouldn't be allowed to post because you're talking about things as if they are fact, when they are opinion, and WRONG.

Get out.Why the hostility? :rolleyes:

Sagittaire according to this post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=128864) i think the right syntax is:

sourceA=source.FFT3dfilter(sigma=0.75,plane=4)
sourceB=source.FFT3dfilter(sigma=2.75,plane=4)

th_low = 0
th_high = 40

dmask = sourceB.levels(th_low,1.0,th_high,255,0,false)

result = sourceA.mt_merge(sourceB,dmask,U=3,V=3,luma=true)

result=crop(source,4,4,-4,-4)
result=addborders(result1,0,140,0,140)
return result

but maybe i am wrong.

Get out.Self-contradiciton? Opinions cannot be wrong in that sense.

Its bad for many reasons, especially at low bitrates, but in grainy movies its effect seems to be shockingly good. Some of the major sites that specialize in high quality HD ripping have found Prestige to to be the best matrix for grain retention at high bitrates for HD sources.

The matrix itself is... interesting... to say the least. But it seems to work, oddly enough.

wasn't there a problem with custom matrices and "B-frame mode"?
IIRC "B-frame mode" had to be "none" to work correctly with matrices?

what's the current situation? i also think aku said some time ago that custom matrices somehow mess up x264's ratecontrol?

They shouldn't screw up ratecontrol; they do "screw up" RDO in the sense that, for example, Prestige biases in favor of inter blocks when in RDO mode. Of course, this could be entirely intentional.

does this still apply?

Most near-transparent HD rips fit in a DVD9.

Except most if not all 1080p rips are out of spec for any hardware player???

If one cannot follow specific guidelines with given hardware (HD-DVD/Blu-Ray/Xbox 360/PS3/HW H264 Decoding on nVidia and ATI Cards) then most people cant view their encodes anyway, not everyone can have a super duper HTPC to watch something just because people decide to jack up reference frames to levels that violate the MPEG4-AVC Spec level's itself :)

It's an old but really good CLI version of the Elecard/Mainconcept core. Converter don't have all the fonction enabled on the Elecard/Mainconcept core. If you want a complete and recent Gui you must use Sonic Cinevision 2.5.
!!!!! too expensive for me...

hmm strange last time i looked in converter pretty much all options were available like the complete masking and film grain enhancement, did they change it again?
The only gui where i didn't see this options was in the Mainconcept Reference Encoder, ehh btw "Sony Xbox360 Profile" HEHE and since when are consoles Portable Devices? ;)

woah!
