archos dvr av500 - how to record

hi, i have an archos dvr av500 and i cannot figure out how to record from tv/analog source like a dvr.

what i have tried was plugging it into the tv docking pod and plugging the input source to the av-in port of the tv docking pod. but the archos player's menu does not mention record .

how do you record with this thing ?

i just got to the top menu. for some reason i had to shut it off and back on again before i was able to look at all menu items...
