I am trying to fit the bonus DVD of Aliens (from the Alien Quadrilogy box) on a DVD5. As usual, I take DVD Rebuilder Pro 1.26.6 and have it prepare the DVD for encoding (leaving everything intact, no removal of audiotracks or subs).

However, at the end of the prepare phase DVD Rebuilder Pro just freezes and sits there. In the task list, I see it's eating away 2% of CPU time, so obviously it still seems to be doing something - but what?

This is on a QX6850 system with Vista Ultimate, with a legal copy of DVD Rebuilder Pro 1.26.6.

Anyone got an idea what might be going wrong here?

-- Edit: I just noticed that in DVD Rebuilder's temporary folder, the REBUILDER.INF file keeps growing. More proof that it is actually still doing something.

This happens on discs that have an abnormal number of cells to process. Elaborate menus and VOB's that are mostly photos are examples. If you give it some time, you will probably find that RB will eventually finish. The rebuild will also take extra time, as all these things are copied to the output folder.

It would seem you're right. I let it run last night and eventually the thing did finish. Phew :)

-- Edit: however, it would be wise for DVD Rebuilder to actually show some progress information. As it is now, it just sits there and looks as if it's doing nothing. Perhaps a good idea for the author, if I don't forget I'll mail him later today.
