Ok i am new to the subtitles as i have never need to create any, but now with crappy anime dub i think the time has come.

Now my questions are:
Is there a way to have 2 optional sound tracks like on a DVD? (but in .avi divx file, or seperate if need be) So i can switch bettween english and jap sound tracks.

Also i understand it that the subtitles overlay over the .avi file and are permernent. Is there a way to have external subtitles?

Answer about subtitles..

you can rip them off DVD using GKnot or you could download them
off the Web. In every case all files, no matter what the file type
is FILENAME must be the same as the movie.avi file. Then you
must install VobSub 2.07 package and you are done. You
can for example turn them off/on in Windows Media Player 6.4...

For the audio streams, convert those streams you are interested in to .mp3 and mux them with the video stream using nandub. if you want more then 2 streams, you could take avimux e.g.

Then you have to download Morgan Stream Switcher from Doom9's site (listed in the full listing of the Audio Tools). Then you can switch the languages in WMP.
