View Full Version : What to do when episodes are mistaken for extras?

I have a few episodic discs here, which, although ripped properly, have titles which are mistaken for extras by DVD-RB. Consequently, the 1-click backups are much smaller than they should be using the Movie + Menus mode.

Is it best to simply use Full Backup mode following some sort of run-through with VobBlanker to get rid of the extras?

I've never used VobBlanker, but I have to think it might be pretty easy, if it does what its name implies.

PS. It would be great to see which titles get blanked in the non-Full Backup modes and for the user to override the titles chosen by DVD-RB.

You can't use "Movie and Menus" mode on series discs. It assumes the largest of the episodes is the "Feature". The option is to select "Full Backup", or using the Editor to remove anything that isn't and episode.

Creating what you're asking for is quite impossible -- as there really is no distinction between episodes and extras... the "Feature Only" mode works because you select only the largest -- which is pretty much always true with the feature.

OK, thanks. It seems I have been lucky so far with episodic discs in "movie + menus" mode, as they have worked just fine so far. This particular disc must be the first to have the episodes spread out over multiple titles.

I totally forgot about the preview/edit feature to blank the extras.
