Just wanted to ask real quick, I want to increase the amount of video being sharpened by fft3dfilter's sharpening function, without increasing the max sharpening. Because, a lot of scenes are perfect, but a few are too blurry and need more. This is HD.
So far I have:
MPEG2Source("Cap.d2v", info=3, cpu=2)
ColorMatrix(hints=true,interlaced=true)
Load_Stdcall_Plugin("C:\Program Files\megui\tools\yadif\yadif.dll")
Yadif(order=1)
Spline36Resize(1280,720)
fft3dfilter(sigma=2, sharpen=0.3, plane=0)
fft3dfilter(sigma=1.3, sharpen=0.7, plane=3)

Well, the only thing I can think of is to use the Trim() function to select the parts of the video that need more sharpening. After that, change your settings for fft3d to adapt them to each part...

Although FFT3DFilter is great as a denoiser, I personally don't think it does a great job of sharpening (at least on my limited set of footage). Have you tried different sharpeners?

I would agree. I use fft3dgpu, and its denoising is excellent (particularly on typically terrible chroma planes), but its sharpening leaves much to be desired. Very low numbers help a bit, but anything above .5 in most cases (for me anyway) tend to leave ringing / banding / posterization.

Try LSF with smode=4.

You may also want to try SeeSaw. If your source is HD and captured correctly, then a light denoising combined with SeeSaw can work miracles.
