This is a newbie question,

I tried to make a back up of Good Luck Chuck a few days ago - and DVDshrink couldn't run it through, so I tried "Ripit4me" and half way through it said "some of the files couldn't be run because they are either dirty or scratched or because they could be protected" and it then asks if you want to re-rip the files.

I had the same thing happen with Saw p.4 - both of these discs are almost brand new and neither had any scratches or scuffs on the discs.
So I'm assuming the problem is the same with both discs that the Files that Ripit4me couldn't read are protected. So I saw the post about Good Luck Chuck and running FixVTS - I guess I'm confused about how to run FixVTS - I saw the afterdawn site explaining how to use it initially - but when I tried to use the "FullDVD" option - it kept telling me on each VOB "Couldn't open D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_22_1.VOB ( Using VOB 22 as an example) - what am I doing wrong ? do I run it all through FixVTS before I use Ripit4Me then run it through DVDshrink?

Sorry if these are stupid questions - any help would be greatly appreciated - Thanks

Hi!

Try using the latest version of any of the following:

1) DVD95Copy Pro (commercial)
2) Any DVD (commercial)
3) DVDFabHD Decrypter (freeware - different than DVD Decrypter)

Thanks a million Setarip_Old I used DVDFabHD Decrypter - then had that same compression as described in the other Good Luck Chuck post - and Got fixVTS to work on the files AFTER I ripped it with DVDFabHD - and it all turned out great

Thanks Again for helping out a Newbie,
