I captured a file
http://rapidshare.com/files/89886385/Test.avi (3,4 MB)
with VirtualDub and direct-encoding to xvid
(xvid-version from this thread: http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1085452&postcount=163).
To understand my problem jump to a keyframe (shift-right on keyboard) and after that go from one frame to another forward and backward around those keyframe.
You will see that reaching the keyframe has 1 frame delay - means a frame marked as keyframe is shown one frame after/before the film-scene changed.
Example: jump to keyframe 0:00:03.240. Go 1 frame backwards. When You jump 1 frame forward again - no scene-change but frame marked as a keyframe. Scene-change comes 1 frame later.
What happened here? The behavior is a little bit like in unpacked bitstreams.
Playing this file in MPC and/or in virtualDub results in a non smooth playback (looks like 15 fps).
I tried to unpack and repack bitstream with mpeg4modifier - no change.
Now I'm trying to reencode it and will post results here in about 1 hour.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Olnima
//edit: O.K. reencoding helps regarding the frame-by-frame-behavior but reencoded video also doesn't play smooth (still looks like 15 fps)...???
Note : I also posted this in VirtualDub-forum:
