How to crop black bars with no compression

hi
i've ripped some hdtv streams(mostly sport events) so they're in 16:9 with the channel logo in the black bars at the top or bottom. i want to crop those black bars including the logo without loosing any bitrate.
is there a way to do this? virtualdubmod is great and very versatile but i don't no how to use the filters(e.g.cropping) without compression or re-encoding.

Many containers allow cropping in the stream--that is, it'll crop on playback for you. You can't do it with Virtualdub/Vdubmod though.

i didn't mean necessarily VirtualDubMod.
i wanted to compile them on dvd9 without encoding to xvid-so that i can use the crop option- and then re-encoding to mpeg which surely hurts the quality
it's a shame that there's no way around without loosing some quality.
